Summary
The Design Coordinator is responsible for supporting Design Studio operations and overseeing the physical showroom, including maintenance, samples, and displays.
Essential Functions
Design Studio & Showroom Operations
Supports design studio processes and manages reports and tracking information for assigned projectsOversees the physical showroom, including maintenance, samples, and displaysWorks with the Design Studio Manager and vendors to correctly sample and display programs in showroomsOrders office and design studio supplies and maintains office equipmentAssists in setting up new accounts and new design studios
Administrative & Scheduling Support
Answers phones, greets customers, schedules, and coordinates Design Center appointmentsPrepares designer files for appointmentsProvides project administrative supportAssists with data entry and document management
Communication & Collaboration
Communicates regularly with builder personnel, designers, sales team, and managerPartners with designers and account executives to strategically manage builder accountsRefers complex or unusual problems to supervisor
Process Improvement & Manager Support
Identifies opportunities for process improvementAssists the Design Studio Manager as needed
Work Structure & Other Responsibilities
Under general supervision, exercises judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniquesWork typically involves regular review of performance by supervisorPerforms other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalentSpecialized skills training or certification may be requiredDesired experience: 3–5 years of administrative or clerical experience (builder experience a plus)
Skills & Competencies
Bilingual experience preferred but not required (English/Spanish)Must have a thorough knowledge of all available products used by the Company as it relates to product installationStrong written and verbal communication skillsInterpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional working relationships with builders, vendors, subordinates, and co-workersAbility to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors in a professional and courteous mannerProactively identify, analyze, address, and resolve problem areas, conflicts, and issuesDisplays willingness to make decisionsExhibits sound and accurate judgment, supports and explains reasoning for decisions, includes appropriate people in the decision-making process, and makes timely decisionsStrong organizational skills to ensure adequate tracking systems are utilized to maintain and track all required information associated with the ordering and production processWorking knowledge of internet, inventory, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, and order processing systems
