The Designer I - Architecture Studio supports the design of small-to-mid-size projects and the development of the project design, and the production of presentation drawings and sketches. The Architectural Designer is responsible for working with the project team to assist in the overall effort of completing the various phases of the project. Under the direction of the Project Designer or a more senior project leader, develops, modifies, and reviews drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intentDevelops a growing understanding of the requirements to complete the project through all required phases of the projectDuties may include the development and implementation of project design concepts, project modelling, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and general production of design and construction documentsWorks on multiple projects, providing concepts and techniques in ways that may explore new ways of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirementsInteracts with clients and consultants, participates in project development and presents ideas clearly and persuasivelyPrepares, manages and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, and details, as directed by others in the project team, following standards and archiving documents as appropriateDevelops solutions to technical and design problems following established design standardsMay assist in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract processPrepares 2D and 3D presentations, design drawings and renderingsCompiles data and performs fundamental design computationsPerforms product research and may assist Project Designers and Project Architects with materials selection and system researchIncorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projectsTakes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practicesFosters a commitment to external and internal client service WATG is an Equal Opportunity Employer
