What You’ll Do Design & Documentation • Conduct on‑site measurements and produce as‑built floor plans and documentation • Develop schematic designs, proposed floor plans, and space plans that balance livability, light, and long‑term value • Create elevations, cabinetry layouts, and 3D renderings as projects require • Read, interpret, and build from existing architectural drawings when clients bring their own plans • Prepare clear, polished design presentations and scopes of work for client review • Support development of accurate client proposals and project estimates, with careful attention to numbers, scope, and financial detail • Lead design consultations with homeowners to understand goals, priorities, and budget • Guide clients through design options and key decisions with confidence and clarity • Present design solutions and project proposals that help clients move forward with confidence • Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the design process • Collaborate with project managers and our construction team to ensure designs translate smoothly into production Who You Are • A designer at heart—you think in floor plans, sight lines, and spatial flow • Experienced in residential design, renovation, or residential architecture • Skilled in CAD software, preferably Chief Architect (or ready to transition into it) • Comfortable reading and discussing architectural and construction drawings, whether you created them or not • Meticulous with dimensions, specifications, proposals, and project financials—you don’t let details slip through • A strong communicator who can make complex design decisions feel simple for homeowners • Genuine, warm, and at ease with clients—the kind of person who makes a stressful process feel manageable • Someone who takes full ownership of their work—your deliverables are complete, accurate, and on time without someone checking behind you Preferred Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in residential design, interior design, architecture, or a closely related field • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or a related discipline • Proficiency in Chief Architect or similar residential CAD software • Portfolio of residential work demonstrating space planning, renovation design, and attention to detail • Residential design certification (NCIDQ, NKBA, or equivalent) is a plus • Familiarity with construction documents, estimating, or construction management platforms is a plus Total compensation ranges from $75,000 to $120,000 annually, consisting of a base salary plus performance‑based bonus.
