Technical Designer

Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with the Principal Designers on full-service residential projects from concept through completion • Produce, revise, and coordinate accurate floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction documents using Chief Architect (or comparable software) • Translate design intent into clear, buildable drawings with attention to scale, dimensioning, and constructability • Assist with space planning, finish selections, custom millwork design, and material specifications • Prepare design presentations, mood boards, sample trays, and procurement packages • Source furnishings, fixtures, and finishes; assist with ordering, tracking, and vendor coordination • Maintain highly organized and accurate project documentation, drawings, and schedules • Attend client presentations, site visits, and installations as needed • Support installations, styling, and punch lists alongside the design team • Communicate clearly with internal team members, vendors, contractors, and consultants to keep projects moving forward and resolve technical questions Qualifications • 2–4+ years of experience in a high-end residential interior design firm • Portfolio demonstrating experience with renovations, new construction, and furnishings, with an emphasis on technical drawings and documentation • Proficiency in Chief Architect or similar drafting/design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.) • Strong understanding of space planning, architectural layouts, and basic residential construction methods • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate drawings with minimal revision • Excellent attention to detail and a refined design sensibility • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace • Strong time management, organization, and communication skills • Ability to manage tasks independently, meet deadlines, and follow work through to completion We look forward to reviewing your work and learning more about your technical experience and design approach. We are seeking a Design Assistant to support our Principals and design team with project execution, organization, and day-to-day design support. The Design Assistant plays a critical support role in the execution of residential design projects. Design & Presentation Support • Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and PDFs based on direction provided • Assist with pulling finishes, materials, and reference imagery • Update design boards and element pages as selections are confirmed • Organize and prepare sample trays and sample checkouts • Support styling and installation preparation Project Organization & Admin Support: • Maintain organized digital and physical client folders • Track action items and next steps from meetings • Assist with scheduling site visits and installations • Draft emails and correspondence for review • Support accurate time tracking and documentation • Follow up on assigned vendor and rep requests Qualifications: • 0–3+ years of experience in an interior design studio or related field • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to follow direction precisely and complete tasks through to completion • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace • Familiarity with Chief Architect or design software is a plus but not required • Excellent communication and time management skills • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, collaborative environment
