About Us:
We are a high-end residential interior design studio specializing in large-scale renovations, new builds, and full-home furnishings. Our work emphasizes thoughtful architectural integration, refined materials, and livable luxury. We operate as a collaborative, detail-driven team and manage complex projects from concept through installation.
We are seeking a Design Assistant to support our Principals and design team with project execution, organization, and day-to-day design support.
Position Overview:
The Design Assistant plays a critical support role in the execution of residential design projects. This position focuses on organization, preparation, and follow-through, helping ensure that design work moves efficiently and accurately through each phase.
This role is best suited for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable executing clearly defined tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Presentation Support
• Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and PDFs based on direction provided
• Assist with pulling finishes, materials, and reference imagery
• Update design boards and element pages as selections are confirmed
• Organize and prepare sample trays and sample checkouts
• Support styling and installation preparation
Drawing & Documentation Support
• Apply redlines and updates to drawings as directed
• Label plans and elevations according to studio standards
• Organize drawing sets and layouts for internal review or printing
• Export files (PDFs, images, CAD outputs) as instructed
• Maintain organized file structure and naming conventions
Note: Design Assistants do not independently dimension, resolve technical conflicts, or issue drawings without review.
Procurement & Sourcing Support:
• Source furniture, lighting, plumbing, and accessories per direction
• Compile pricing, lead times, and availability
• Prepare procurement packages for review
• Assist with Studio Designer input as trained
• Track orders, backorders, and delivery schedules
Project Organization & Admin Support:
• Maintain organized digital and physical client folders
• Track action items and next steps from meetings
• Assist with scheduling site visits and installations
• Draft emails and correspondence for review
• Support accurate time tracking and documentation
• Follow up on assigned vendor and rep requests
Installation & Field Support:
• Assist with installation prep and logistics
• Support on-site installations and styling days as needed
• Help document punch list items and follow-ups
Qualifications:
• 0–3+ years of experience in an interior design studio or related field
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow direction precisely and complete tasks through to completion
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Familiarity with Chief Architect or design software is a plus but not required
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, collaborative environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
