Summary We are seeking a talented Visual Merchandiser with a background in Interior Design or experience in furniture showroom merchandising to elevate the customer experience across three retail locations. This is a hands-on creative role focused on enhancing showroom aesthetics, aligning with home furnishing trends, and driving customer engagement through sophisticated and strategic product presentation. Responsibilities As a Visual Merchandiser, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and implementing visually compelling merchandise displays that highlight furniture collections and accessories in a cohesive, design-forward manner. The ideal candidate will have an eye for spatial planning, a pulse on design trends, and the ability to create immersive in-store experiences that convert browsers into buyers. • Implement visually engaging showroom displays that reflect current home furnishing trends and align with our brand identity • Create impactful window displays, room vignettes, and floor layouts to enhance traffic flow and customer engagement • Refresh showroom visuals regularly to highlight new product launches, seasonal changes, and promotional events • Unbox, clean, and style new accessories for the showroom; ensure accurate and aesthetic tag placement • Communicate floor updates and display needs to the Visual Merchandising Manager and showroom teams • Collaborate with the VM Porter Team to bring your display vision to life • Participate in weekly team meetings via Zoom to align on strategies and execution • Maintain high visual standards across all locations, traveling regularly between stores Preferred Qualifications & Skills • Education or professional background in Interior Design, or equivalent experience in furniture-focused visual merchandising (5 Years preferred) • Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to style, stage, and design showroom spaces with creativity and purpose • Solid experience in space planning, and merchandising principles specific to home furnishings • Familiarity with SketchUp, Google Drive Suite, and Excel; SketchUp experience is a significant plus • Current knowledge of industry trends, including color stories, seasonal accents, and layout optimization • Ability to interpret sales data and translate it into visual merchandising strategies • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple store visits • Wholesale buying experience is a plus, but not required Requirements • 5+ years of visual merchandising experience in retail or interior-focused environments • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required (mileage and travel time reimbursed) If you have a passion for design and want to make a significant impact on customer experience, we invite you to apply for the Visual Merchandiser position at Penny Mustard Furnishings today!
