This individual will lead with both vision and discipline- guiding design direction, cultivating client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex, high-profile projects. In addition, this role will directly manage and mentor senior design leadership, including Design Directors, while providing overarching guidance, structure, and accountability across the broader design team. The role is instrumental in scaling the business, elevating the brand, and reinforcing Denton House’s position at the forefront of luxury design. What You’ll Do Leadership & Strategy Define and champion the firm’s interior design vision in alignment with broader business objectivesCurate boutique, highly specialized studio teams to elevate our residential, hospitality, and commercial practices with a bespoke, design-driven approach Partner with executive leadership on long-term growth strategy and market positioningCollaborate closely with architecture and planning leadership to ensure seamless integration across disciplinesBusiness Development & Client Leadership Drive new business and contribute meaningfully to revenue growthCultivate and steward relationships with high-net-worth clients, developers, and strategic partnersRepresent the firm at a senior level in client presentations, industry forums, and key networking environmentsProject Oversight & Operations Provide executive oversight across all projects from concept through completion, ensuring design excellence and financial performanceLead contract strategy, fee structures, and risk management frameworksOversee forecasting, billing, and project profitability in partnership with financeAlign team structure and staffing with project demands and growth objectivesEnsure adherence to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and executionTeam Leadership & Culture Lead, mentor, and inspire Design Directors and senior team membersFoster a culture of design excellence, accountability, and collaborationChampion talent development and build a strong, scalable team for long-term growth What You Bring Experience & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related fieldNCIDQ certification strongly preferred10+ years of experience across luxury residential, hospitality, and/or commercial design5+ years in a senior leadership role within a design-driven organizationProven success leading complex, high-profile projects and multidisciplinary teamsSkills & Expertise Exceptional client engagement and business development capabilitiesStrong financial acumen, including forecasting, billing, and profitability oversightDeep understanding of design delivery, contracts, and fee structuresProficiency in Revit/CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office preferredKnowledge of building codes and sustainability standards (LEED, WELL) preferred Working Conditions & Travel Based in Salt Lake City; primarily in-office with flexibilityTravel required for project sites, client engagements, and industry events To be considered for this position, please include a copy of your portfolio with your application.
