Job Description:
This is a full-time, tenure-track position. Selected individuals
will develop and teach a variety of courses in the interior design
program, participate in service to the Program, Department, as well
as College and University. This position may have the requirement
of helping with development, advising and other duties as
assigned.
Job Duties:
Teach 12 credits for each of two semesters during the academic
year. Classes are to be determined and approved by the program
coordinator and department chair.
Help with service events, including but not limited to Charitable
Chair, Design Charrette, Study Abroad, and other program and
department activities. Participate in accreditation preparation and
all activities pertaining to maintaining CIDA accreditation
status.
Attend department meetings and graduation as scheduled. Every
effort is made to schedule department meetings around
classes.
Hold office hours at least five per week and be available for
student consultation as required.
Required Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree or equivalent or currently enrolled in master’s
degree program seeking degree in ID, Architecture, Interior
Architecture, Fine Arts, Education, or equivalent Design-Build
degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from accredited
institution.
• NCIDQ certification.
• Prior professional practice in interior design and/or
architecture.
• Teaching experience at University level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred:
• Relevant Design-Build certifications (e.g. LEED, WELL, AIP,
etc.)
• Relevant technology certifications

Physical Requirements of this position: Light work. Exerting
up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force
frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move
objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater
than that for sedentary work.
Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and
field of vision: Required to perform activities such as
preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a
computer terminal; extensive reading.
The conditions the worker will be subject to in this
position: None. The worker is not substantially exposed to
adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or
administrative work).
