Position: Sr. Interior Designer (Hospitality)
Senior Interior Designer
Develop design solutions and provide project coordination for all project phases, from concept through construction. You will be part of a team that creates impactful and memorable experiences in the hospitality, restaurant, mixed use, healthcare, and residential markets.
Tasks may include the following:
• Analyze client’s needs, goals, and safety requirements and integrates findings with knowledge of interior design in accordance with codes and standards
• Coordinate with the Design Director/VP and project team(s) on the entire project, which may include layout drawings, color coordination, furniture selection, design concept, installation, and sign-off for all project phases, including planning and programming, conceptual design, presentations, schematic design, design development, FF&E sourcing and specifications, and construction documents. Construction administration as necessary would also occur which would include product/finish approvals, shop drawings, and coordination with clients, brand and/or contractors
• Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
• Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
• Produce graphic presentations and working/construction documents and specifications for non-load bearing interior construction, reflected ceiling plans, lighting, interior detailing, materials, finishes, space planning, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment in compliance with universal accessibility guidelines and applicable codes
• Develop and maintain client work file containing records of all written correspondence, notes on all pertinent verbal discussions, design sketches, schedules, and coordinate necessary contracts/Add Services with the appropriate Executive
• Prepares and administers bids and contract documents as the client’s agent with appropriate manufacturers/vendors, when necessary
• Reviews and evaluates design solutions during implementation and upon completion
• Maintains accurate details of hours worked on each job with breakdown of job tasks
• Attend or facilitate site visits, client meetings and presentations and/or coordination meetings
• Supervise, develop, and provide mentorship of young staff members to ensure they are efficient in performing their assigned tasks
• Maintain client confidence and good relations. Develop effective communications and keep client informed of project status
• Develop and exhibit self-direction and curiosity while working in a collaborative environment
• Continue personal education through seminars, professional organization, and other training
Qualifications
• Strong understanding of design theories, material, and color with comprehensive knowledge of design standards and an understanding of chosen specialty operations
• Strong understanding for the development of FF&E Specifications
• Strong experience in management and coordination of construction drawing sets with strong knowledge of construction detailing, materials, methods, and codes
• Strong experience in management and coordination of FF&E specification deliverables/implementation and available vendors/fabricators
• Strong experience in the management and implementation of a design concept in a team environment through completion that is on schedule and meets budget and design intent
• Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Is collaborative, self-motivated, positive, and flexible with excellent customer service skills.
• Bachelors Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited school
• Minimum of 6-8 years of professional commercial design experience, preferably in your specialty
• NCIDQ or CID certified is required to be titled Interior Designer, in good standing
• Proficiency in Revit, Auto Cad, Photoshop and InDesign as well as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
