Position Overview The Lead Interior Designer is responsible for leading all custom home projects as well as designing high-impact luxury spec homes and setting the overall design vision for Alturas Homes. This role blends client-facing design, high-level product design, and department leadership, ensuring that both custom homes and luxury spec homes elevate the Alturas brand. Key Responsibilities 1. Custom Home Design & Client Experience (Primary Focus) Lead all client selection meetings for custom homesGuide clients through a structured, high-touch design processDevelop fully curated interior and exterior design packagesEnsure all selections are finalized prior to construction startBalance creativity with budget, constructability, and timelines2. Luxury Spec Home Design Design interior packages for select high-visibility or luxury spec homesEstablish the design direction for key showcase propertiesEnsure these homes set the standard for quality, innovation, and market appealCollaborate with Marketing to ensure strong visual presentation and storytelling3. Design Leadership & Department Oversight Maintain the overall design vision and standards for Alturas HomesProvide direction and support to the Production Interior Design ManagerEnsure alignment between custom, luxury spec, and production designIdentify opportunities to improve processes, quality, and efficiency4. Furniture, Staging, & Custom Client Offerings Source and present furniture packages for custom home clientsCurate furnishings that align with the architectural and interior design visionCoordinate ordering, delivery, and installation with vendors when applicableElevate the overall client experience through thoughtful, cohesive designExecute staging for model and luxury spec homes based on established design direction5. Product Development & Materials Lead the evolution of Alturas’ material library and standard selectionsResearch and introduce new products, finishes, and design trendsEvaluate vendors and materials based on quality, cost, and scalabilityEnsure the design offering remains current, competitive, and elevated6. Vendor & Trade Coordination Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to confirm product availability and lead timesBuild and maintain strong relationships with key design partnersTroubleshoot product or material issues proactively7. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales to align product with buyer preferences and market demandCollaborate with Marketing on renderings, model homes, and visual assetsWork closely with Construction to ensure design intent is executed in the field8.
