THE SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER AT CPL With a thorough understanding of building design, fire, life-safety and energy codes and guidelines, the Senior Interior Designer performs analyses, prepares plans, produces designs and compiles documentation for a wide range of assignments. Reporting to an Interior Design Leader, you work with clients to meet and exceed aesthetic expectations and functional requirements and are heavily involved in every facet of the design process – from creating 3D space renderings to producing intricate mood and visual dialogue boards. Approaching all tasks from a humanistic perspective, you have a passion for creating beautiful environments which, when combined with your love of space planning and project management, allows you to deliver extraordinary results to CPL’s clients and partners. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE • You earned a BS in interior design or a related field from an accredited institution and have at least ten (10) years of related experience encompassing design for healthcare, education and/or commercial assignments. • You maintain NCIDQ certification, and if applicable, you’re a Certified Interior Designer • You can prioritize critical tasks and meet deadlines on or ahead of schedule. • You have exceptional communication and presentation skills. • You’re highly proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, InDesign and Microsoft Office • You comprehend building codes and inspection regulations related to interiors. • You’re detail oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. • You have ample experience writing and reviewing specifications. • You can easily establish, maintain and nurture client relationships. • You’re a natural team player who can collaborate to devise innovation creative solutions while fostering an environment of camaraderie. CORE DUTIES • Understand and implement public health and safety codes, including accessibility and environmental guidelines. • Develop program and space planning during the schematic design and development processes. • Participate in field measurements, verifications and scanning of existing conditions. • Lead and participate in client vision sessions, serving as a primary client contact. • Manage and model 3D floor and reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, detailing, schedules and finish documents. • Develop physical and virtual presentations, including but not limited to renderings and video walkthroughs. • Manage project and client needs through analysis, evaluation and subsequent development of the program, objectives and project requirements, including post-occupancy review and the sharing of lessons learned. • Collaborate throughout the design process, including during kickoff and programming client needs, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, construction administration and FF&E selections and purchases. • Coordinate project team interaction both internally and with all other project participants • Oversee the application of products and materials appropriate for the project.
