About this role

Position Summary: A Showplace Sales Designer works out of our retail showrooms helping turn leads into customers where you design and sell cabinetry, countertops, hardware and other kitchen and bath components. Good candidates will enjoy working with people, have a keen eye for interior design and finishes and like to stay busy. This position involves generating customer leads, developing a professional reputation, establishing and meeting deadlines, providing customer service to homeowners and their contractors, knowing our product line to better sell and design to the customers wants and needs and more! Essential Functions: Other duties may be assigned, requested or directed. • Greet and qualify walk-in prospective customers and complete prospect questionnaire. • Answer telephone in a professional manner • Responsible for scheduled floor time, opening and closing the showroom • Travel to job sites for room measurements to create design layouts • Develop and design layouts using appropriate design software (20/20), determine pricing, and include appropriate literature for customer presentations • Follow company guidelines and procedures for using EQ, pricing products and displaying professional sales conduct • Revise presentations as necessary to make sales • Follow up on all presentations or leads to determine if job is sold or lost • Prepare and submit cabinet orders for production • Initiate written job changes as necessary • Review and audit cabinet order acknowledgements for accuracy • Assume all responsibility to see that the order is delivered and serviced to provide superior customer service • Assist senior sales designers as needed General Requirements: Candidates must already possess or be willing to learn the following. • Ability to stand and sit as necessary in an office environment as well as job sites • Technologically savvy and comfortable using a computer, phone, and Microsoft Office suite • Knowledge of all Showplace cabinetry lines • Ability to deal with and communicate at a professional level with customers, vendors and co-workers • 20/20 or Pro Kitchen design software experience preferred • Exceptional organizational and people skills • Great written, verbal and listening skills • High School Diploma required.
