The Wadsworth Company is a full-service design to turn-key custom home builder in beautiful Southern Vermont. Our primary work is in the residential second- homeowner market. We strive to provide outstanding services to our clients and tailor our services to their lifestyle and dreams. The job of the Project Manager and Interior Designer would be to offer clients full service interior design services and complete project support. This is a fast-paced environment best suited for a high energy, strong multi-tasker. Job requires previous experience doing interior design and managing construction details – at least 3 to 5 years preferred. Outstanding oral and written communications skills a must, as is experience using SketchUp and reading architectural plans. Having a passion for design, a commitment to excellence, and an enthusiastic and upbeat personality are all key to success. RESPONSIBILITIES: PROJECT MANAGEMENT · Comprehensive, full support and management of all projects being executed. · Work in conjunction with full suite of players associated with each project- from showrooms and vendors, to architects, builders, millworkers, sewing and upholstery workrooms, and receivers to implement all project initiatives. · Create, and update Excel spreadsheets to monitor all aspects of projects. Including: Fabric and furniture by room and by application; Paint colors; Lighting; Plumbing; Client Funds; Order Status; Product Inventory, etc. · Ensure all order processing for furniture, lighting, fabrics, art, accessories, plumbing, etc. · Tracking all orders to obtain status, estimated completion dates and delivery information · Tracking client expenses to manage funds for each individual project for purchasing, invoice payment, freight charges and taxes · Oversee client accounting INTERIOR DESIGN · Create room layouts and do space planning · Create floor plans and do elevations of cabinetry using Sketch-Up · Create paint schedules · Fabric search, selection and application · Selection and application of custom drapery, bedding and pillows · Furniture search and selection including upholstery detail, sizing, etc. · Custom furniture design · Lighting selection and application · Repurposing of existing furniture · Kitchen and bathroom design including cabinetry material, finish, door style, stone and tile selections · Plumbing selection · Custom trim, built-ins and cabinetry design SKILLS · Self-motivated, very detail oriented and highly organized · Ability to manage multiple and complex projects during all phases simultaneously · Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines · Comfortable participating in and/or conducting client meetings · Ability to work easily with others or individually to complete all required tasks · Desire and ability to quickly learn about new products, techniques and technologies · Capability to easily handle changes, delays, and quickly resolve problems · Excellent computer and technology skills · Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel · Skilled with design and rendering software including Sketch Up · Other rendering or design software a plus
