About this role
Joshua Smith Inc. is seeking an Expeditor/Project Coordinator to join our
small boutique interior design firm on a contractual hourly basis. This is a
remote, part-time position with the potential to become full- time as we
expand our business. While this is not a design position, we’re seeking
someone who is enthusiastic about learning all aspects of residential design.
This is a great entry-level position for a self- starter, who is detail-
oriented, organized, and interested in working with a fun team while learning
the ins and outs of the design industry. Hourly rate commensurate with
experience. JOB DESCRIPTION • 20+ flexible hours weekly of remote expediting
and project coordination support during standard office hours • Work with new
vendors to set up trade accounts, supplying supporting documentation, and
assuring existing trade account details are up to date • Assist with placing
fabric reserves and requesting quotes from upholsterers, contractors, and
vendors • Schedule and coordinate vendors and shipping companies for
installations, fabrications, and deliveries • Track status of each item
ordered and/or reserved, organizing up-to-date tracking and shipping
information in a shareable format, and updating team if there’s a deviation
from expected project schedule • Maintain POs for all items ordered for each
project in Studio Designer and in client Dropbox files • This is a remote
position but if near Manchester, VT then some hours in the design studio would
be great • Responsible for a weekly or bi-weekly status update(s) for all
project orders to team JOB REQUIREMENTS • College Degree preferred; students
also welcome to apply • MS Office proficiency (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word,
Excel) • Dropbox proficiency • Professional phone and email decorum •
Extremely organized and efficient with great follow through and keen attention
to detail • Self-starter with a team mindset – must be able to take initiative
and work independently, and possess a willingness to pitch in where needed •
Availability to commit time flexibly during standard office hours to
effectively communicate with vendors on both the east and west coasts •
Availability to attend 1-2 weekly project touchpoint team meetings; and to
meet more frequently initially with team members via Zoom for remote training
