Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and driven Lead Interior Designer to join our team. This role is responsible for executing the design and selections for our remodeling projects, collaborating with clients, internal teams, trade partners, architects, and vendors. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Lead Designer (not a junior designer).
The Lead Interior Designer will begin working on each project after a Project Development Agreement is signed, managing all aspects of the design phase and guiding clients through the entire process. Responsibilities include conducting client meetings, developing plans based on client needs, supporting project coordination and production management, and representing the company during Design and Pre-Construction.
Responsibilities
• Work directly with clients to ensure a smooth and successful design process
• Collaborate with and support internal team members
• Adhere to design schedules and achieve key project milestones
• Draw layouts using CAD, including elevations, cabinet drawings, electrical, plumbing, tile patterns, and flooring direction
• Learn and master product lines and offerings
• Manage the selection and ordering of materials, including cabinetry
• Oversee and organize the showroom
• Work alongside on-staff designers to achieve project objectives
• Mentor and coach design staff
Essential Skills and Abilities
• Proficient in CAD software (such as Chief Architect, Archicad)
• Strong technology skills are required
• Passion and commitment to residential renovation
• Process-oriented, with the ability to suggest and implement improvements
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans
• Skilled in measuring kitchen and bathroom spaces
• Ability to use BuilderTrend software
• Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting objectives
• Excellent time management and operational efficiency
• Outstanding customer service and organizational skills, with attention to detail and quality
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, using independent judgment to solve problems
• Effective teamwork abilities
• Ability to travel to job sites and vendor locations as needed
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on process improvement
• Commitment to professional development
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance required
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
