Kitchen Designer/Sales

Summary: The Kitchen Design Salesperson has direct contact with the public. They must represent the store in a positive manner. They must be knowledgeable about the product lines, make suggestions, show customers around the showroom, and help customers make the best decision in selecting their cabinetry, countertops, and flooring. They provide full kitchen/bath designs with estimates and close/sell these projects completely while providing customer service during and after the sales process is complete. Objective: The Kitchen Design Salesperson will assist customers with the sales and design of Cabinetry Products within the Cabinet Division of Northeast Factory Direct. This is a Full Time, In-Showroom Position. Essential Functions: • Greets and interacts with customers. • Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise. • Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer’s needs. • Answers customer’s questions about cabinets and design options. • Assists customers with purchase and design decisions. • Retrieves merchandise from sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations; places special orders. • Sets future appointments, if needed, as well as directs clients to their respective designers. • Collects payment using the store point of sale system. • Provides simple quotes and estimates • Provides full kitchen/bath design options with estimates. • Manages the full sales cycle for customers in the Cabinet Division. • Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Excellent verbal communication skills. • Excellent active listening skills. • Excellent sales and customer service skills. • Extensive knowledge of the merchandise sold. • Ability to anticipate customers’ needs. • Ability to recommend merchandise to customers. • Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system (Storis.) • Basic Computer Skills Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Previous sales and customer service experience required. • Experience within the Remodeling/Construction Industry preferred • Previous Kitchen Design Experience preferred • Most current Kitchen Design Software experience preferred. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily be in the showroom area. Occasional trips to the warehouse may be required. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will be required to stand and walk throughout the retail space for the duration of their shift. May occasionally be required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
