Based in Marin County, CA, Together Home Design Studio works with clients locally and internationally, drawing inspiration from diverse places and people. We are looking for a talented and highly organized Junior Interior Designer to join our small, collaborative team. This is a hands-on position for someone who wants meaningful experience in every stage of the residential design process, from early concepts and sourcing through construction and installation. The Junior Designer will work closely with our Principal Designer and project team to support multiple active projects. The right person is creative, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving studio where priorities can shift from day to day. Responsibilities Assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, plumbing, tile, stone, textiles, wallcoverings, and accessories Create and update presentation materials, mood boards, tear sheets, and client-facing documents Produce and revise floor plans, elevations, and design details in AutoCAD Maintain accurate product specifications, schedules, pricing, and project documentation Request quotes, samples, lead times, and product information from vendors Communicate professionally with vendors, workrooms, contractors, and trade representatives Prepare materials and documentation for client presentations and site meetings Attend site visits to take measurements, document progress, and assist with design execution Help manage the sample library and keep project materials organized Assist with installation preparation, receiving coordination, styling, and installation days Support the team with the wide range of details required to move projects forward successfully As the person grows in the role, there will be opportunities to take greater ownership of project phases, client presentations, and smaller design assignments. Qualifications Degree or certificate in interior design, interior architecture, or a related field preferred Previous experience or internship within a residential interior design firm preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD required Experience with Canva and Google Sheets Familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Programa, or similar design and project-management platforms is a plus Understanding of residential space planning, product dimensions, and basic construction terminology Strong visual instincts and an appreciation for layered, timeless residential design Excellent organization, accuracy, and attention to detail Clear and professional written and verbal communication Ability to manage several assignments and deadlines at once Comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and taking initiative Collaborative, resourceful, and willing to help wherever needed Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel to job sites and showrooms throughout the Bay Area Position Details Part-time position Primarily in person at our San Anselmo studio, with visits to local job sites, showrooms, and vendors Weekday availability required Occasional longer installation or site days may be necessary Compensation commensurate with experience What You’ll Gain This position offers direct exposure to the realities of running a high-end residential design project.
