About this role
Position
Contribute to a small but fast paced residential interior design firm executing designs projects from inception to installation, ground up construction to remodels, and decorating. Must be self-managed, extremely organized and independent while being able to work within a project team effectively and efficiently to ensure the successful completion of projects, and be a team player assisting the office with various task. Candidate will visit jobsites, showrooms, construction sites, workrooms as well as client homes regularly throughout the course of the project. Prepare any necessary material selections, (whether shopping for fabrics, furniture or floor coverings to hardware, plumbing and tile), prepare design boards, construction documents and schedules to facilitate coordination of project. Candidates must demonstrate a high proficiency in interior architecture, design development, construction design and documentation, be detail oriented and extremely organized.
Requirements
• Experience in all aspects of the residential design process, from shopping LA showrooms, to interpreting and creating construction documents.
• Excellent drafting skills, as well as a swiftness in accurately reviewing construction documents against designers specification. Documents created include, but are not limited to: general space planning, custom furniture, elevations and plans indicating placement of materials, reflected ceiling plans, electrical plans, architectural details and fabrication documents for millwork, cabinetry, as well as others details as required.
• The ability to create and maintain budgets for every phase of the project, create presentation boards to include CAD drawings and renderings, mood boards, FF&E, surface materials, color palettes, and lighting. Additionally, procure and purchase items for clients.
• Possess a knowledge of LA design showrooms, PDC, and other trade related resources.
• Exceptional organizational, written, communication skills and attention to detail, are required, as well as an aptitude for multi-tasking, speed and efficiency.
• Be pre-emptive with potential issues that may arise, anticipate pitfalls with vendors and clients, while being proactive and solution-driven if problems do arise.
• A team player spirit and a great attitude are a must!
Responsibilities
• Contribute innovative ideas and concepts to projects
• Demonstrate expertise in space planning, layout, color, scale and construction
• Develop schematic designs, furniture plans, construction documents which reflect architectural, electrical, lighting, HVAC and other consultant’s design requirements
• Review interior architectural plans
• Work on projects from all phases, beginning with initial client meeting to design concepts, construction, installation, CAD drawings, sourcing, procurement, scheduling
• Interface with clients, vendors and contractors to coordinate production and project schedules
• Manage daily task list for assigned projects.
• Review trade drawings and samples for accuracy and consistency with design intent
• Review specs for detail and accuracy to ensure site conditions favor application or installation
• Respond promptly and professionally to vendor, tradesmen and client communication
• Admin tasks such as retrieving and shipping packages and mail, returning samples to showrooms, running general office errands
Qualifications
• 5+ years of Interior Design Experience in a similar role at a residential design firm
• Education in Interior Design
• Fluent in in AutoCAd, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Proven ability to create comprehensive accurate drawings and finish schedules for contractors and installers such as lighting schedules, door/hardware schedules
• Extensive knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
• Knowledge of design requirements, construction methods and materials for high end residential environments.
• Ability to multitask, work independently as well as in a team
• Reliable car and willing to travel

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
