MBM Design is a full-service residential and commercial interior design company based in Wethersfield, CT. Our mission is to provide the premier client experience for our design clients.
We are currently seeking a highly efficient, motivated and organized design assistant. The primary focus will be providing administrative support to team members.

As the success of the team grows, this individual will be responsible for hiring, training, and leading additional team members to ensure all administrative tasks of the business continue to be completed to high standards with maximum efficiency.

Experience with design projects, administrative work, meeting deadlines, working in high stressful situations at times, client service experience is a bonus.
What will you do?
The successful candidate is a tech savvy self-starter and problem solver that will thrive in a small, close knit team environment. We’re looking for someone who is extremely proactive, upbeat and open to learning and jumping into whatever area necessary to help support the busy team.
The Design Assistant’s role will include the following (but not limited to):
• Assist the team with setting up for meetings, producing presentation materials, and creating new client packets
• Organize and maintain project files through design software program
• Assist with ordering and order tracking
• Logistics support and coordination for installations
• Social media support
· Obtain pricing/formal quotes from vendors and following up on orders throughout the procurement process
· Handle office receiving and returns (Open and inspect deliveries of lighting, small furnishings, accessories, etc.)
· Organize and maintain sample library
· Administrative tasks and business-related errands
· Generate furnishing tear sheets for presentations
· Existing conditions surveys (take on-site measurements and photographs)
· Participate in white glove deliveries at client homes. Weekly pick-ups and returns to showrooms and client homes.
· Assist with photo shoots and styling
· Other tasks as requested by the team
Requirements
• Excellent customer service skills, superior communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, time management skills and ability to multitask effectively
• Ability to attend off-site meetings at project sites and industry partner offices in the area
• Proficiency with: Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Products, Instagram, etc. Bonus if you have experience with elevations, floor plans, Chief Architect, SketchUp, Photoshop and other similar design programs.
• A passion, commitment and drive for excellence along with positive energy and an eagerness to learn and operate in a team centric environment
• Ability to provide top notch administrative support to others
• Minimum 2 years of work experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
