About this role
HDG is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to fill our Interior Designer/FF&E Assistant role. For this role, the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in commercial interior design and will support senior designers by helping streamline workflow and assisting with ensuring timely project completion. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be crucial in... helping the team work efficiently and deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
• Assist Procurement Coordinator with tracking of finish samples and shop drawing approvals
• Assist Procurement with all tracking as necessary
• Maintain inventory levels and manage procurement budgets
• Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate budget tracking and financial reporting
• Stay updated on market trends, new products, and suppliers. Process new vendor requests
• Ability to complete a small set of documents from start to finish
• Design knowledge and detailing of basic millwork (ability to draft showing constructability and design intent)
• Data entry of FF&E material selections and specifications
• Coordination with multiple disciplines, including base building architects, MEP Engineers and on-site construction team
• Assist at installations as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a recognized University or College
• At least 2 years of experience in commercial Interior Design/Purchasing
• Impeccable organizational skills
• A strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Be self-directed, highly motivated, and have high initiative
• Have great written and verbal communication skills
• Be aware of design industry and business trends
• Proficient in purchasing software (e.g. Studio Designer), Microsoft Office. PLUS: Revit, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite.
