About this role

Interior Designer (Residential Remodeling & Additions) Overview TPC is a fast-growing home remodeling and addition company in Grand Rapids. We are seeking a dedicated Home Interior Designer to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional looking to transition into larger, higher-value projects while working within a supportive, family-like culture. This is NOT a sales position. This is a strictly interior design role. You will be assigned projects and are not responsible for lead generation or sales activities. Your mission is to take a preliminary scope of work and guide the client through the entire design journey—from floor plans and material selections to the final order. Some Things You Will Do • Client Collaboration: Meet with homeowners in their home and our showroom to align on goals, aesthetics, and budgets. • Full-Scale Design: Create stunning remodels for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, decks, and more. • Technical Drafting: Create layouts, 2D floorplans, and minor 3D renderings using Revit, 2020 Design, or similar CAD software. • Client Stewardship: Guide customers through product selections, "shopping days," and finalize all orders. Ensure client satisfaction and job accuracy • Project Management: Oversee the project from the design phase through ordering before a clean hand-off to the Project Manager. • Team Synergy: Coordinate with vendors, architects, and internal PMs to ensure job accuracy and total client satisfaction. Desired Experience & Skills • Working Experience: 2+ years of experience in residential remodeling or interior design. • Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, terminology, and project phases is highly preferred. Experience designing cabinetry layouts preferred. • Software Proficiency: Experience with 2020 Design, Revit, or similar CAD tools. • Communication: Exceptional listening and presentation skills; communication is TPC’s #1 core value. • Organization: Ability to self-direct and manage multiple projects, clients, and deadlines simultaneously. • The TPC Fit: We value honesty, integrity, and a "roll up your sleeves" attitude. We care about doing the right thing, not the easy thing. • Teamwork: Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team; willingness to help the team. • Attitude: Possesses a positive attitude. We are a happy & friendly bunch • Growth Mindset: Motivation to learn, grow, self-direct, and be proactive. • Innovative Mindset: Demonstrates flexibility and problem-solving skills when met with challenges. Benefits of Working with TPC • Reliable Work-Life Balance: Consistent hours, weekends and major holidays off. • Growth-Focused: Clear paths for career advancement and personal development. • Stable Income: Reliable bi-weekly direct deposit and a predictable pay schedule. • Supportive Culture: A collaborative environment where "life happens" and the team has your back. • Variety & Challenge: every project brings new settings, scenery, and opportunities to grow • Equipped for success: benefit from real systems, modern technology, and a company that’s always striving to improve and is organized. Work Location & Compensation • HQ Location: Near US-131 and 44th St. • Work Location: In-person/onsite role at our HQ, with some travel to client homes throughout the Greater Grand Rapids area. • Schedule: Full-time. • Pay Range: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour based on experience and proven record (Paid bi-weekly). • PTO: Paid Time Off provided at the start of each year, with optional unpaid time off for extra flexibility.
