Northern Impact, a national multidisciplinary design firm, seeks a talented Interior Designer to join their Santa Monica office. As an integral part of the architectural and interior design team, you will collaborate on developing interior design efforts, performing technical aspects of the interior design process, and assisting in data gathering, planning, and documentation.
The firm has 11 offices globally, focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects. Recent achievements include winning the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Building, along with the IIDA Healthcare Design Award.
Responsibilities:
• Develop innovative design solutions with enduring impact through original insight.
• Collaborate with the integrated Architectural and Interior Design team to develop interior design solutions for projects ranging from workplace, higher education, and other community and commercial buildings.
• Research materials and concepts to advise and support design teams on technical issues influencing interior design concept development.
• Prioritize tasks and coordinate the completion of documentation required from initial design phase through final project completion.
• Furniture design concept development through procurement and installation punch lists, providing research and options to clients, creating furniture budgets, and bid documents.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary team members.
Qualifications:
• A four-year degree in Interior Design or a related field from an accredited program is required.
• Four to eight years of interior design experience, preferably in arts, community, education, and workplace projects.
• Fluent knowledge of Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and/or other related graphic software programs is expected.
• Rhino knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with space planning and technical skills, including 3D visualization, design detailing, and construction documentation.
• NCIDQ completion or plans to pursue.
