About the position
The Interior Designer III role involves leading the interior design process for healthcare projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements in functionality, aesthetics, and spatial considerations. This position requires a blend of creative design skills and project management capabilities, as well as mentoring junior designers and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver cohesive and compliant design solutions.
Responsibilities
• Lead the interior design process for healthcare projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements.

• Create and develop conceptual designs, detailing interior architectural elements, and selecting finish materials and furnishings.

• Guide and mentor less experienced designers in executing design tasks.
,
• Work closely with project managers, architectural designers, and other disciplines for cohesive design execution.

• Coordinate design work to produce drawings and construction documents that meet firm standards.
,
• Develop and implement code-compliant designs, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
,
• Prepare and present design proposals, including 3D renderings and design reports.
,
• Lead client presentations and in-house design reviews, showcasing project vision and development.
,
• Collaborate with architectural lead designers to enhance design intent during detailing and construction document phases.
,
• Oversee the creation of interior architectural and millwork details and project specifications.
,
• Participate in construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews, site visits, and punch list preparation.

• Provide design guidance during the construction phase to ensure fidelity to the original design concept.

• Supervise and mentor junior interior designers, providing guidance in project execution and professional development.

• Assist in creating design documents and presentation materials for marketing initiatives.

• Prepare fee proposals and participate in project interviews to secure new work.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in interior design, with significant exposure to healthcare, academic, science and technology, or commercial projects.
,
• Must possess NCIDQ certification or equivalent architectural certification.
,
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling software such as SketchUp or Rhino.

• Strong conceptual design skills with a thorough understanding of interior architecture and detailing.
,
• Experience in client-facing design visioning sessions and presentations.
,
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring design excellence, quality service, and financial viability.

• Demonstrated experience in delegating tasks and mentoring junior designers.
