Design House is an upscale interior design firm in Portsmouth, RI. Finding out what our clients are passionate about, drives us to pursue perfection with each design project. Customer satisfaction is our utmost priority. The Interior Designer will create extravagant interiors that embody sophistication and functionality. We are looking for a creative, and high energy, Interior Designer, to inspire our clients and help them realize their dreams for their home. The work schedule is 4 weekdays and Saturday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follow Interior Design projects from concept to completion
• Prepare estimates for interior design projects according to company procedure. Estimates include detailed description sufficient for contract.
• Utilize computer applications to provide sketches of design as needed
• Create mood boards to provide samples of design vision
• Assist customers in selecting finishes/products for various projects
• Source materials and products included in plans
• Support project managers by helping their customers make selections and source materials
• Collaborate with vendors regarding product orders and Showroom displays
• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions, and best practices
• Provide supervision to Showroom Assistants; schedule staffing for Design House
• Work with Social Media & Marketing Specialist to promote Design House services
• Actively search for opportunities to grow the business and increase clientele.
• Oversee day-to-day operations for the business.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college in related field and three to five years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
• Ability to communicate courteously and professionally in oral and written forms
• Expertise in layout, color, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture, window treatment, wall covering, etc.
• Project Management skills, excellent customer service skills
• Organization and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Apple products and software including Mac OS, Numbers, and Pages
• Proficiency with Adobe software including Acrobat, Photoshop, Studio Designer
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design programs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
