About this role

Interior Designer (Portland, OR) is a regional architectural firm located in Portland, Oregon with a strong focus in the healthcare industry and a wide client base. We are currently seeking a full-time interior designer to join the PKA Interiors studio. We are looking for a creative and energetic individual who has a passion for architecture and design and who also desires to be a part of a... collaborative, integrated team. Job Description and role • Work with the team to help develop ideas and finish concepts with mentoring opportunities • Design and documentation of graphic project elements such as digital modeling using Revit, Photoshop, Sketchup, etc. to produce graphic design concepts and presentation documents • Preliminary space plan and furniture plan development • Adapt to a range of various tasks including rudimentary interior design assignments to collaboration with project design and developing construction documents • Participate in researching finish materials and maintaining a current materials library • Preparation of finish specifications Qualifications • Bachelor degree in Interior Design • Strong graphic design skills and artistic abilities including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and InDesign • Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, Sketchup, AutoCAD and other modeling programs • 4+ years of experience in Commercial Interior Design or at an Architectural firm • Experience with the design of healthcare environments • Basic understanding of architectural design, interior design, and construction principles • Experience with the production of design and construction documentation including specifications • Experience with the research of materials and applications for both interior and exterior of buildings is desirable • Experience in the selection and specification of FF&E required • General knowledge of relevant building construction codes & standards FGI, OAR, ADA, etc and other regulatory requirements • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills Other Qualities • Flexible and Proactive • Ability to multi-task and thrive with the ability to organize tasks efficiently • Collaborative and adaptive with team members and tasks • Creative problem solver • Detail-oriented PKA Architects offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package to include : medical, dental, vision, supplemental life insurance, 401(k) plan, profit sharing, and paid time off (PTO).
