Interior Designer / Client Selections Specialist (Residential Remodels & New Construction) About The Role We are a high-end residential remodeling company specializing in kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home renovations. We are seeking an Interior Designer / Client Selections Specialist who will own the overall look and feel of our projects - including finishes, materials, fixtures, and design details that create exceptional client experiences. In this role, you will work directly with homeowners to guide design selections, coordinate with our project team to ensure accurate ordering and installation, and support brand growth through project documentation and content creation. This is a client-facing role requiring strong design judgment, organization, and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Client Selections & Design Guidance Meet with clients (in-home, showroom, or virtual) to select finishes including: Cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, paint, fixtures, hardware, and lighting Guide homeowners through design decisions and provide professional recommendations Create selection boards, mood boards, and specification sheets for each project Manage revision rounds and finalize selections within established deadlines Project Coordination Translate design selections into clear ordering documentation (SKUs, materials, colors, quantities) Collaborate closely with project managers to avoid conflicts related to lead times, availability, or installation Update and adjust selections when products are discontinued or unavailable Ensure accuracy and consistency across project specifications Content & Brand Support Capture before/after and progress photos of projects Record short videos explaining design choices or "designer tips" Coordinate with marketing to showcase projects across advertising and social media Required Qualifications Experience in residential interior design, kitchen/bath design, or showroom design consulting Strong ability to communicate with and guide homeowners through design decisions Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage specifications, materials lists, and project documentation Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites and showrooms throughout San Luis Obispo County Highly motivated with interest in growing and elevating the company's design services Preferred Qualifications Experience in residential remodeling, custom homes, or kitchen/bath studios Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Pinterest, or similar platforms for creating design boards Comfortable appearing on camera for short design videos Compensation & Benefits Base salary or hourly compensation (based on experience) Performance-based bonuses tied to: Number of projects managed through selections Client satisfaction and reviews Contribution to marketing and content initiatives Growth opportunity within a high-end residential design environment
