Job Overview: KHB Construction Inc. is seeking a talented Interior Designer to create architectural and interior designs that align with homeowner visions and budgets. This role requires effective collaboration with sales and engineering teams, management of showroom materials, and coordination with city and county departments for timely permit acceptance. Key Responsibilities: • Design Creation: Develop architectural, interior, and cabinet designs that meet client needs while adhering to the pre-construction schedule. • Sales Collaboration: Attend sales meetings and on-site consultations to gather precise measurements and ensure design accuracy. • Material Management: Order, stock, and manage showroom materials, ensuring popular selections are readily available. • Permit Coordination: Collaborate with engineering and local departments to expedite permit acceptance, submitting applications in person or online as needed. • Process Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to streamline design processes, including creating and managing vendor logs in the internal CRM and maintaining an effective inventory management system. • Active Design Tracking: Utilize Buildertrend to monitor active designs and schedules, forecasting completion dates. • Quality Assurance: Conduct QA/QC with project management prior to submissions to guarantee all necessary information is included. Communication and Collaboration: • Maintain open communication with the sales team regarding pre-construction schedules and potential issues. • Schedule meetings with homeowners to confirm design visions and requirements. • Coordinate with cabinet fabricators and vendors to ensure feasibility and quality of designs. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential interior design, with a focus on kitchen and bathroom remodels. Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, from conception through completion. • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in design software, including Chief Architect, Cabinet Vision 2020, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools. Familiarity with 3D rendering and visualization software to present design concepts effectively. Proficiency in Excel for tracking designs and managing project data. • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices relevant to interior design. Familiarity with sustainable design practices and materials. • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and collaboration with team members. Ability to present design concepts and proposals clearly and persuasively. • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality design work and compliance with specifications. • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop innovative design solutions. Ability to address challenges and changes in project scope effectively. • Teamwork: Experience working collaboratively within a team environment and coordinating with other professionals, such as architects, engineers, and contractors. • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing previous design work, including before-and-after photos, drawings, and client testimonials. • Certifications: Professional certification such as NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) or similar is a plus. Compensation: • Salary Range: $50,000/year, with potential for a higher salary depending on experience. • Performance Bonuses: • $500 bonus for each permit approved on the first submission without revisions. • $500 bonus for each project completed on time and within budget thats brought in by showroom appointment.
