Interior Designer

Job Summary Our client is seeking an Interior Designer and Drafter for their busy, fun, high end and fast-paced interior design firm on Long Island’s North Shore. Knowledge of CAD required for 2D plans and elevations. Ability to measure and draw job sites, as well as read architect plans, is required. Kitchen design is a plus. Chief Architect experience is also a plus but not required. Candidates will be considered ONLY IF YOU ARE LOCAL to the North Shore of Long Island and able to drive. We would love to connect if you: • Earned a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, or equivalent combination of education and experience and have • 5 years of Interior Design experience and CAD experience strongly preferred. • Are fluent in CAD-based programs and are able to design floor plans and elevations. Chief Architect and kitchen design is a plus.. • You have bathroom design experience, as well as tile design • Have access to a computer on which you utilize job-related software programs • Possess the ability to source product from our in-house list of vendors, particularly plumbing and lighting • Can accurately specify lighting and understand lighting technicals • Are skilled with reading specifications for appliances, lighting fixtures, etc • Have a car and insurance and are able to drive around Long Island, including the North Shore and occasionally the Hamptons • Can visit job sites • Work with contractors, vendors and other designers from inception to install. • Communicate with contractors and our Project Coordinator to insure product is specified and ordered accurately and timely • Are polished and display a professional demeanor Duties will include both in office and out of office work, 30-35 hours/week How to Apply: Please submit your resume, portfolio, and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience.
