Karen Kempf Interiors is looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate must have 3+ years of related work experience, preferably with residential home remodels and/or new construction and be able to work within a fast-paced, team environment. JOB... RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop design concepts and create presentation mood/vision boards for clients
• Manage projects from start to finish and ensure a smooth transition of project specifications from designer to builder
• Specify FF&E materials and translate them into spreadsheets
• Research and source selections at local showrooms and online, including but not limited to furniture, fabric, carpeting, tile, plumbing, appliances, lighting, hardware, countertops, flooring etc.
• Create Finish Schedules/Selection Spreadsheets per job that include flooring, tile, countertops,ighting, plumbing, hardware, bath accessories, paint colors, etc.
• Source interior accessories and design window treatments (based on project scope)
• Create graphics/documentation including furniture plans, tile layouts, cabinetry elevations, outlet placements, and recommended mounting heights for mirrors/light fixtures, utilizing both hand sketching for concepts and digital software (SketchUp and LayOut) for distributable documents
• Communicate with vendors and clients via emails/calls (including but not limited to making appointments, gathering information and/or relaying information)
• Lead and assist in client design presentations (this may include visiting local showrooms to show client’s selections in person)
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (power point, excel, word)
• Assist in office organization (material library, client folders/bins, archiving old jobs, keeping materials updated and tidy, etc.)
• Take detailed notes (during client meetings)
• Maintain a detailed hourly time/ task spreadsheet per client (to be filled out during/at end of each day)
• Perform administrative tasks (product pricing, estimate writing (Studio Designer) and checking in on current orders regarding furniture ETA’s, setting up furniture deliveries, support to lead designer, etc.)
• Make material returns to various local trade vendors (reliable car needed)
• Attend job-site walkthroughs to meet with subcontractors and/or client to discuss different design elements and help with questions during a project
• Document projects during jobsite visits by taking photographs and videos 18. Experience in Studio Designer, Asana, and Bluebeam Revu is a bonus.
Required Qualifications:
• Interior Design Degree from a two- or four-year College or University.
• At least 3 years of residential interior design experience.
• Must be proficient in: SketchUp/LayOut, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in Studio Designer, Asana, and Bluebeam Revu is a bonus!
