Position: Interior Designer About Wren & Willow... Wren & Willow is a General Contractor in the Puget Sound area that specializes in custom homes, home remodels, design-build, and commercial construction. With over a decade of experience, Wren & Willow is dedicated helping make our clients' homes a haven for their families and a retreat for their guests. Position Summary: The Interior Designer provides design services to Wren & Willow clients to help direct and assist clients for residential and commercial remodels and custom builds, as well as provide design support for design-only clients. The Interior Designer is required to have knowledge and ability to implement their design and is expected to support for all phases of the design process, including utilizing design software to create and visually represent all aspects of the design. This position is responsible for coordinating all material selections in a timely manner consistent with the job schedule, as well as communicating all selections and design choices to the job superintendent, client, and other stakeholders to ensure proper and timely acquisition and installation. This is an office-based position and requires collaboration with others in the company to fulfill tasks and essential functions. Essential Functions: • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, and team members to understand project objectives, vision, and design requirements for projects. • Review and understand the project scope and work with clients on selections that meet the scope requirements and allowances, and work with the Project Manager on any changes to the scope requirements or allowances. • Develop and present comprehensive design concepts, including conceptual drawings, renderings, and samples reflecting the desired aesthetic and vision of the project. • Conduct and attend client meetings and site visits to evaluate existing conditions and gather essential information, including accurate measurements, for design development. • Create detailed interior design plans, including space planning, furniture layouts, and design detailing, while adhering to project budgets and timelines. • Select and source high-quality materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and accessories that enhance the overall design concept and align with the project's specifications, including meeting clients at supplier showrooms and other field trips. • Provide detailed documentation, including procurement lists and specifications to keep the selection timeline on task, and maintain client approval of all selections made. • Collaborate with external suppliers, manufacturers, and artisans to ensure the procurement and timely delivery of custom and specialty items. • Oversee the installation process, working closely with the construction team to ensure accurate execution and adherence to design intent. • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address design-related issues, and provide guidance and adjustments as necessary. • Other duties as assigned. Behavioral Expectations:· • Ability to read and understand floorplans and design documents. • Possess general and specific knowledge of different design styles, and stay updated with current design, materials, and finishes in residential and commercial design. Attend educational workshops as assigned to learn about new industry products. • Stay updated with current design trends, materials, finishes, and technologies in the industry, and integrate them appropriately into projects. • Maintain professional oral and written communication.
