We’re INTERIORS HOME and we’re looking for an Interior Designer to join our team in York.

Working within INTERIORS HOME guidelines and processes, and using the showrooms and operations for support, the Interior Designer uses creative & artistic vision to design spaces our clients will love. The Interior Designer’s reach encompasses other vendors, contractors, builders and architects to develop unique, customized spaces that marry functionality, aesthetics, and style. The Interior Designer field measures and documents existing conditions, prepares and delivers design presentations, actively manages small orders and large projects, oversees installations and occasionally takes customers off the door when not immersed in a current design project.
The successful candidate will bring to the position:
• Demonstrable knowledge of interior design principles and practices;
• Ability to accurately interpret and visualize architectural blueprints;
• Working knowledge of building codes;
• Exceptional project management and collaboration skills;
• Active listening skills and the ability to convert observations into actions;
• Complex problem solving and ability to communicate, negotiate and persuade;
• Expertise in business development and relationship-building;
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Room Planner, Adobe InDesign or similar design software.
We’d also like to see:
• Five (5) years of experience in retail furniture and interior design plus demonstrable knowledge of interior design principles and practices, OR;
• Certification or degree from an accredited institution in Interior Design, Architectural Design or Fine Arts, and a minimum of two (2) years in practice as an Interior Designer.
