RESPONSIBILITIES: • Mentor and guide team members across all levels, promoting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. • Participate in the hiring, training, and performance review processes to build a high-performing team aligned with the studio’s values and objectives. • Collaborate with the Principal and Design Director to set and implement the studio’s strategic direction. • Make key decisions on project selection, team assignments, and studio growth initiatives. • Assess and improve studio workflows and processes for maximum efficiency and creativity. • Direct studio operations, including finance, human resources, and day-to-day administrative tasks. • Manage vendor and consultant contracts to support project and operational needs. • Conduct periodic reviews of studio workflows and processes, implementing tools and methodologies that enhance efficiency, creativity, and project delivery, such as Agile project management techniques or digital collaboration platforms. • Lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of contracts with clients, licensing agreements, and third-party collaborations, ensuring alignment with studio interests and legal standards. • Develop and implement billing models and fee structures that offer flexibility to clients while ensuring the studio's financial health and competitiveness. • Oversee financial meetings with project leads to review invoices, project budgets, expenses, and profitability, ensuring financial transparency and accountability. • Streamline client onboarding processes, including clear communication of billing practices and project fee estimates, to set clear expectations from the outset. • Work closely with the Principal and project lead to strategize on billing and project execution approaches. • Oversee the implementation and optimization of studio management systems, such as project management software or client relationship management systems. • Directly manage and mentor the Studio Coordinator, ensuring their tasks align with studio needs and priorities. • Act as a senior point of contact for problem-solving across projects, offering strategic insights and solutions to challenges, ensuring project and operational continuity. • Maintain oversight of the studio’s bookkeeping team and ordering procedures to ensure financial practices support project needs and studio efficiency. REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in an interior design studio. • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred. • Strong understanding of financial processes and HR responsibilities within a design context. • Proven ability to strategically manage studio operations, aligning processes and workflows with business goals. • Experience in implementing operational improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage and synthesize complex information for diverse audiences. • Advanced organizational abilities to maintain smooth studio operations under tight deadlines. • Proficient in coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and compliance with standards. • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of identifying and resolving issues swiftly to avoid or minimize disruptions. • Proficient in using software tools such as Studio Designer, Google Suite, and general project management software.
