About this role

Linda Shiner & Associates (LSA) provides the Material Librarian support to our Architecture/Interior Design firm clients. This position is part-time, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8 hours per day. We work onsite in our client's material libraries. 2 clients are located in NW, Washington DC and 1 is located in Alexandria, VA. All of our clients are large commercial A&D firms, specializing in... Healthcare, Workplace, Multi-family and Education. This is a a great position for an experienced designer who wants to work in the industry on a part-time basis. This is an interesting, semi-independent, rewarding and fun position. Candidates must have knowledge of FF&E and have Interior Design or Interior Design related experience. You must be highly organized, self motivated and capable of multi-tasking and ability to focus in an environment which can be chaotic. The goal and objective of the Resource Librarian is to support the professional staff by sourcing materials, seeking out industry trends and best practices, while considering budgetary and logistical needs for their firm's projects and the lifecycle of library contents. The Architectural Design Librarian is responsible for managing the operations of the firms material libraries by using LSA methods and tools. A typical days activity includes • Database management of LSA proprietary system. • Oversee the circulation of catalogs, material samples. • Sample ordering for projects at designer request. • Assist with vendor presentations and CEU'S. • Meet with vendors to update their materials and learn about new products. • Research cutting edge materials as it relates to firms current projects. • Update library material samples while paying attention to industry changes. • Curate displays to inspire architects and designers of new collections and emerging brands. • Keep the community space logically organized and inviting for ideating design concepts. • Filing, organizing and returning samples. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 24 per week Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday Experience: • Interior Design or related: 3 years (Required) Ability to Commute: • Washington, DC (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Washington, DC: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
