Interior Design - Intern

SUMMARY The Intern Designer supports the CEO/Principal Designer, Lead Designer, and the Design Team in day-to-day design functions of Concetti. The Intern Designer assists with providing quality and intuitive designs to our clients, tailored to their needs, by supporting both design work and internal operations, through partnership with the Concetti team and under the direction of the assigned Lead and/or Senior Designer. The Intern Designer is creative, self-motivated, eager to learn, and interested in learning both the design and business components of the industry. The Intern Designer interacts with both a diverse clientele and internal team members. The Intern Designer receives hands-on training regarding design strategies and client management. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Design: Assists CEO/Principal Designer, Lead Designer, and the Design Team with projects and daily tasksConduct field measures and verifies dimensionsCreate any necessary construction/ detail drawings to document design solutionAttend client + job site meetings (assist with taking notes, pictures, on-site measuring)Attend and observe furniture delivery and installations in personRegular and routine onsite attendanceMaintain client folders including marketing materials Design Team Support: Assists with client photoshoots and accessory days as neededKeep office clean & orderly Help to maintain Resource Library & accessory inventoryHelp with procurement tasks as needed Organize samples/bindersOrganize client files/samples/bindersMarketing tasks: under the direction of the Brand Ambassador and Marketing & Relationship Director, with a strong storytelling perspective, creates social media content and marketing collateral Other: Works harmoniously and collaboratively with team members to accomplish agency objectivesAll other duties as assigned EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS In Process of Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture preferably from a CIDA accredited institution SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE Experience & proficiency working Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms), Mac computers and devices, AutoCad, SketchUp, Photoshop, Canva, Chief Architect, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest KNOWLEDGE - DESIGN Knowledge of all aspects of Interior Design from inception to completion including:Design and materials for residential and commercial projectsElements & principles of designArchitectural selections, flooring, cabinets, tile, lighting, etcFF& E selections, furniture, window treatments, area rugs, art and accessories Space planning methodology Conduct field measures Budget managementCreation of precision technical plans, drawings, and modelsDesign trends, material costs, building codes and ADA laws, building systems, and construction methods REQUIRED ABILITIES Act independentlyInitiate, and motivate self and othersAnalyze situationsManage and work under pressureAttend to detailsPrioritize, multi-task and organize workCommunicate verbally & in writingProblem-solveConcentrateThink creativelyEmpathizeWork without supervisionIdentify problemsGuide the work of others REQUIRED SKILLS Relationship management and exemplary customer serviceOrganize work to maximize productivityActively listen to fully understand circumstancesUtilize Concetti calendar system & block scheduling Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skillsResolve conflicts to facilitate goal achievementCollaborate with others to maximize innovation and effectivenessUse empathy to understand the point of view of othersCommunicate ideas, thoughts, knowledge, and information to foster clarity and engage othersRespond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaintsConsider multiple costs and benefits when problem solving to arrive at most effective decisionResolve issues using conflict management skillsFocus on details to reduce errors and increase efficiencyExercise tact, discretion, and diplomacyPlan Work/Manage time effectively to ensure all work is completed timely and effectivelyManage multiple priorities and demands within established requirements REPORTS TO CEO/Principal Designer ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to: Ascend or Descend - Ability to move on an incline or decline, Lifting at least thirty (30) pounds or more, Hearing, Standing, Walking, Reaching, Bending, Twisting, Grasping/Finger manipulation, Discerning colors, Visual acuity, Hand dexterity, Sitting WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoor environments in a climate-controlled buildingStandard office environment Infrequent exposure to dust, debris and loud noises related to construction zones WORK ENVIRONMENT (IF REMOTE) Must have high-speed internet access and access to quiet, well-kept space per Remote Work guidelines
