Alaina Marie Interiors is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Interior Design Intern to join the studio for Summer 2025. This internship offers hands-on experience working directly alongside the principal designer on active residential projects & commercial, with exposure to both the creative and operational sides of a growing interior design business. This is an ideal opportunity for a design student or recent graduate eager to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, client-focused studio environment.
Responsibilities
• Participate in weekly studio meetings, including preparing updates and follow-ups
• Assist with client communications, including drafting and organizing emails
• Support procurement and order management, including tracking orders, lead times, and deliveries
• Attend vendor appointments, design shows, site visits, and showrooms alongside the designer
• Help source materials, furnishings, finishes, and samples
• Organize design documentation, selections, and project files
• Assist with general studio organization and day-to-day operations
• Support installations and project milestones as needed
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Interior Design or a related field
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Proficiency (or working knowledge) in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, or similar is a plus not required
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
• Reliable transportation for local travel to job sites and showrooms

• ***This is an unpaid internship but offers hands-on experience working directly alongside the lead designer on active residential & commercial projects, that may lead to potential future employment with Alaina Marie Interiors following graduation or successful completion of the internship, based on performance, availability, and studio needs.
