Base pay range $45,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr Michele Pelafas Inc, is an award-winning high volume niche design firm seeking an Interior Design Finish & Décor Specialist. Our design team is a close-knit team of artistically talented individuals who bring to each project the full power of our collective experience and insight. We are looking for a driven and talented team player, with strong knowledge of interior/architectural finishes, sourcing furniture and décor for commercial projects. In this position, the ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and aesthetics, with at least 2 years of experience in selecting and recommending decor, furniture, finishes, and materials. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical knowledge, and excellent client communication skills to help bring design concepts to life. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • A degree or certification in Interior Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred. • Minimum 2 years of experience specializing in decor, furniture, finishes, and materials selection. • Strong knowledge of design principles, trends, and materials. • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus. • Proficiency in Office Suite + Quickbooks (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively. • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain comprehensive records and documentation. • Flexibility to travel to client sites, showrooms, and supplier locations as needed. • A desire to work collaboratively as a team, in person and remotely. • Ability to work under pressure and deliver outstanding results. RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE: • Research and sourcing; resourceful in obtaining project information; fabrics, furniture, architectural elements. • Prepare customer product cut sheets & specifications. • Read floor plans and architectural drawings. • Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences, functional needs, and budget requirements. • Source, select, and recommend high-quality decor items, furniture, finishes, and materials that align with project goals and brand standards. • Develop mood boards, material palettes, and design presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to clients. • Stay up-to-date on current trends, new materials, and innovations in the interior design and decor industry. • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of furnishings and finishes. • Maintain accurate project documentation, including product specifications, cost estimates, and order tracking. • Ensure that all selected materials and finishes comply with safety, sustainability, and building regulations. • Assist in creating detailed project schedules, ensuring all design elements are delivered and installed on time. • Conduct site visits to oversee the implementation of design elements and ensure quality control. • Provide support to the interior design team during all project phases, including conceptualization, design development, and final execution.
