RGLA, one of the nation’s leading Retail Design Firms, has an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to fill an immediate intermediate-level position in our Design Studio. You will work directly with the Managers and Directors to support our variety of retail clients.
Responsibilities...
As an Interior Design Associate, you are responsible for basic interior design assignments and working with the project team to assist in completing various project phases within our design studio. Day-to-day duties related to interior architecture, design and retail space planning, may include the following:
• Develops ideas/concepts individually and as part of a team
• Creates Space planning studies / block-out plans of space
• Creates fixture plans and elevations
• Creates lighting plans and fixture drawings
• Coordinates resource development and assists in keeping up our Design library with the latest specifications
• Prepares design development documents (production of design development drawings, millwork drawings)
• Prepares 3D Schematic Design, 3D Design Concepts, Concept Development as assigned
• Provides updates to the team at our weekly meetings on assigned project planning and deliverables
• Conducts research of materials, vendors and resources appropriate to the clients' programs
• Helps support cost analysis of projects by coordinating with vendor and obtaining pricing
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design (or relevant Design diploma such as Industrial Design or others)
• 3-5 years' experience
• Ability to think creatively and contribute to generating successful solutions for our clients
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models
• Knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, environmental branding/signage, color and materials to carryout design intent
• knowledge of design trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness
• High degree of proficiency in Design software such as Autodesk Architecture/AutoCAD, SketchUp, Autodesk 3Ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and others
• Ability to design and assemble 2D and 3D presentations/drawings
• Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency on both PC and Mac
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Working knowledge of Graphic Design, Motion graphic software, digital video editing, or other skills related to designing dynamic content a plus
• Ability to design and assemble presentations
