About the position SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also known as SJS Industrial, is seeking a talented Interior Designer Assistant with experience in assisting with the interior design of healthcare facilities, specifically at a VA Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. As a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 250 employees nationwide and headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia, SJS specializes in providing professional services to support federal and military organizations. The pay range for this position is between $45,760 and $49,920, and the company offers 11 paid holidays, combined 80 hours of PTO sick time accrual, as well as medical, dental, and vision benefits. The Interior Designer Assistant will be responsible for independently planning and executing assigned tasks to meet the objectives of the Interior Design Department. This role includes overseeing and assisting with major project activations, moves, space planning, budgeting, and preparing packages for furniture, finishes, and equipment purchases, as well as managing delivery and installation processes. The ideal candidate must possess at least one of the following key qualifications: a minimum of 2 years of experience in assisting an Interior Designer, experience with Rivet Auto Desk, or medical design experience. The responsibilities of the Interior Designer Assistant include assisting the Interior Designer in creating and executing design services for various spaces, including offices, conference rooms, patient care exam rooms, waiting rooms, and more. The role involves performing technical, administrative, or professional work related to the operation and safety of federal facilities, designing building interiors to promote employee productivity and health, and preparing detailed AutoCAD designs and visual aids for design presentations. Additionally, the assistant will analyze architectural drawings, develop AutoCAD Furniture, Fixture & Equipment (FF&E) plans, produce procurement packages, maintain the Interior Design Resource Library, and assist in managing orders for activation, among other administrative duties. Responsibilities • Assist the Interior Designer to create and execute appropriate design services for varied spaces including offices, conference rooms, patient care exam rooms, waiting rooms, and break rooms. , • Perform technical, administrative, or professional work involving managing, administering, operating, or supporting services and programs related to the operation and safety of Federal facilities. , • Design building interior environments to promote employee productivity, health, and welfare. , • Prepare detailed AutoCAD designs, plans, sketches, perspectives, color schemes, and visual aids for proposed design presentations. , • Analyze architectural drawings and develop AutoCAD Furniture, Fixture & Equipment (FF&E) plan layers. , • Produce procurement packages including Statement of Work (SOW), technical specifications, and independent government cost estimates. , • Create and maintain collateral such as SOW, specification writing, schedules, and financial control logs using Microsoft Office Suite & AutoCAD software. , • Maintain the Interior Design Resource Library that includes drawings, plans, and project correspondence. , • Assist in the management of all orders for activation including furnishings, accessories, and equipment. , • Perform other administrative duties as assigned, such as creating schedules and attending project meetings. , • Review way-finding signage plans and furniture installation plans. , • Direct installation crews without supervision and create punch lists for installed items. , • Assist with creating and maintaining an activation project schedule and report information to the activation team. Requirements • Minimum of two (2) years' experience assisting in Interior Design in a healthcare facility or small area design experience. , • Skilled in free form drawing and drawing to scale when measuring for a project. , • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite. , • Preferred experience with Rivet AutoDesk. , • Interior Design Certification or Program Management Certification is preferred.
