About this role

To the trade wholesale art and decor interior design firm seeking a well-qualified and self-motivated interior design assistant to work on high-end interior design assignments and our trade accounts reporting directly to the President of the Company. Prior training or experience working in interior design is required. This is NOT an entry level position. Responsibilities... • Work closely with the President of the Company and independently to support the sales process. • Research and prepare customer presentations, boards and complex proposals/quotes. • Review custom products including measurements, hardware, finish, types of materials, etc. • Document and follow-up details of active jobs using Quickbooks. • Communicate with vendors on pricing, product availability/lead times and shipping. • Prepare purchase orders, follow-up with suppliers, track shipments. • Prepare progress and final invoicing to clients. • Utilize Photoshop and other computer-aided and traditional design techniques on behalf of clients and company. • Take field measurements. Position Requirements: • High School Diploma. Interior Design or related degree or experience. • Exceptional attitude, passion for design, professional comportment and maturity. • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment with urgency and minimal supervision. • Willingness to learn software, esp. Quickbooks and Microsoft Office suite. • Strong verbal, written and arithmetical skills. • Must have interest in sales and building relationships. • Driver's License, reliable transportation. • Dependable work schedule on-site Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Physical Requirements: • Required to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands and have the ability to reach overhead. • Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 25 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques. • Ability to maneuver effectively around showroom floor, warehouse and office. • Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing, including stairs. • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus and ability to write, count, and read required company paperwork. • Must have the ability to travel locally and out-of-state. Location: This is a full-time, in-office position in our Atlanta, GA office/showroom/warehouse working with the public. Occasional local and out-of-state travel as interior design engagements require. Verification: In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Compensation and Benefits: $18/hr plus incentive compensation/commission and paid holidays/time off. Performance/salary review after 90 days.
