Interior Design Assistant / Junior Designer

Job Summary: Soeur Interiors is looking for a Junior Interior Designer / Design Assistant to join the team immediately. The ideal candidate would be a creative, self-motivated and meticulous individual who is looking for a long-term position and to grow professionally with the firm. This person will work closely with the Principal on all phases of design including on-site measuring/ floor plans... design and installation. Applicants should be very familiar with the interior design process from concept to installation as well as familiar with the New York City design community and centers. Responsibilities: · Designing and presenting concepts to team for review. · Specifying and sourcing materials, lighting, hardware, appliances, fixtures and furniture for projects. · Designing and overseeing custom millwork and furniture pieces. · Creating graphics and visual presentations. · Creation of project documentation including interior construction, electrical plans and millwork detailing is a must. · Communicate and coordinate with outside consultants and vendors. · Manage all calendars/client schedules alongside Principal designer · Assist with all FF&E installs. · Update and maintain material library and schedule and coordinate vendor meetings. · Proactive approach and ability to meet project timelines and client expectations. Requirements: · Minimum 2 years professional experience. Experience in NYC multi-family residential preferred. · Excellent presentation skills including generation of presentations and articulating design information to clients. · Bachelors degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field. · Strong communication, organization and time management skills and ability to work in a team environment. · Self-motivated and ability to multi-task in fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment. · Knowledge of local and online showrooms and resources as well as industry trends. · Ability to navigate Manhattan via subway to all clients and showrooms · Highly proficient in Sketch up, AutoCad, Escape, Revit and Photoshop To apply: For consideration, please email your resume as a PDF attachment along with a PDF portfolio or portfolio link to larisa@soeurinteriors.com.
