Interior Design Assistant (Part time to Full time)

Job description Small residential design firm hiring an intern to work one-on-one with Principal Designer for project support. Seeking a student/recent grad to work for the remaining duration of the Spring 2024 semester (can be for school credit), with a possibility to extend after the semester is finished. There is flexibility to work from home whenever the work allows, but in-person days will... be required at times for collaborative work, site visits, and sourcing from showrooms. Office is located in Greenwich, CT and meetings can take place in the tri-state area. This is currently a part-time intern/assistant position that can lead to a full-time Junior Designer position based on experience. - Sourcing furniture, fixtures, materials, lighting, and hardware for various residential projects - Working closely with vendors to request, purchase, and track ongoing orders - Developing floor plans, elevations, and construction drawings in AutoCAD - Creating presentations in InDesign for clients, vendors, and contractors - Providing creative solutions for spatial planning, furniture layouts, and custom millwork - Site visits for surveying/measuring, furniture and finish installations, and construction meetings - Assisting in day-to-day office and project support - Social Media content planning & creation Required Software Proficiency: - AutoCAD - InDesign - Photoshop - Excel - Windows Operating System Preferred - Social Media Outlets Nice to have Software Proficiency: - Sketchup - Vray Skills: - Strong written and verbal skills to compose professional emails and phone calls - Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and complete daily assignments on time - Very close attention to detail in your own work and with vendor/contractor work. - Ability to switch gears between multiple projects with varying budgets, styles, timelines, and locations - Ability to illustrate your ideas in at least one manner in order to present concepts to designer (either hand sketching, CAD drawings, 3D renderings, etc.) - Possibility of local travel Please email a copy of your resume and portfolio in PDF format to parul@studiojaihome.com
