Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant for a 6-month contract to support our interior design team in creating inspiring, functional, and innovative spaces. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate on diverse projects, from conceptualization to execution, while gaining valuable experience in the interior design industry. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and technical proficiency to assist with design development, drafting, and project coordination.
Duties
• Participate in weekly meetings, providing updates to responsibilities
• Provide general support for principal designer and administration staff
• Assisting in developing presentations and schemes for new projects
• Responsible for managing arrival of project memos/samples
• Deliver samples/products to and from local vendors, as they pertain to projects
• Take initial-lead during Design Development phase by creating Google Slides presentation prepwork and Specification Sheets (to be trained)
• Responsible for filing, cataloging, and maintaining sample library
• Prepares 3D presentation/design drawings, as directed (to be trained)
• Collecting print-outs of floor plans and design presentations
• Compiles data and performs elementary design computations
• Specification, pricing, and stock verification from vendors
• Logistics support and coordination for installs, photoshoots, and events
• Collaborate with Operations Coordinator to prepare install packages prior to installations and/or photoshoots
• Assist with on-site project installations
• Track and record time spent on any client project, through Harvest
• Assist in sourcing materials and products included in plans, as directed
• Assist with project sample layouts and tabletop presentations
• Follow up with any and all clients, vendors and subcontractors for updates on projects as well as confirming appointments, as directed
Requirements
• Standard computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email
• Team player, able to work closely with designers, principal, and administration staff
• Detail-oriented and thorough with good follow-through
• Efficient, adept at time-management and prioritization of tasks
• Able to work with tight deadlines and stressful situations
• Proactive, able to take initiative and solve problems, where possible
• Valid driver’s license and comfort driving locally
• Ability to draw furniture, rooms, and perspective drawings and renderings a plus
• AutoCAD drafting experience preferred, not required
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
