Job Summary/Basic Function
Teaching undergraduate students in the field of interior design and managing the class syllabus and ensuring that the syllabus meets program, accreditation, department and university standards.
Planning and creating lectures, in-class discussions and assignments.
Grading assigned papers, quizzes and exams.
Assessing grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments and examinations.
Collaborating with colleagues on course curriculum.
Participation in program activities, events and accreditation.
Ongoing continuing education in the field of interior design.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited four-year program and minimum of 2 years professional and/or teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Fine Arts, Education or like field, having at least one degree in Interior Design.
NCIDQ certification or ongoing pursuit of professional certification.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision.
Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
