## Interior Architecture and Design Department Head & Professor — 12 MONTH
The Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville seeks a Department Head who will report to the Dean and supervise faculty in the interior architecture and design department. This role involves developing and managing the academic program, overseeing the Department’s curriculum and assessment, handling fiscal management, and supporting student affairs. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, and the Head must be able to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
### What this position involves
You will support and contribute to a collaborative culture within the department and the Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design. That includes promoting interdisciplinary teaching, research, and service, representing the Department to the University and to state and national organizations, and engaging community stakeholders and partners. Experience in leadership and management is an asset; skills as a mentor and facilitator are critical to support and develop faculty and to blend diverse viewpoints that come from a robust interior architecture faculty. Meaningful connections to the profession and contemporary practice and a commitment to maintaining high curriculum and teaching quality are important.
Salary Information: $165,000 (annual)
### Who we're looking for
Applicants must hold a Master's degree in interior design or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment. Candidates currently in academic positions must be full professors at their home institutions before the time of hire into this position or be in declared candidacy and evident readiness for full professor rank. Candidates currently in professional practice who possess an accomplished body of work and merited stature to qualify for the rank of full professor are also eligible and encouraged to apply.
The position is a faculty - tenure/tenure track appointment and is regular, full-time. The campus is located in Fayetteville, and the University emphasizes a workplace culture that promotes healthy work-life balance.
