Heritage School of Interior Design is seeking a passionate and experienced Interior Designer to teach our Fundamentals of Interior Design course. This hands-on, application-focused course lays the foundation for future design professionals and is the core of our accelerated curriculum. We are looking for a dynamic instructor who can bring real-world insights into the classroom and foster creativity, confidence, and career readiness in students.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging and effective instruction for the 12-week Fundamentals of Interior Design Certification course, three times per year.
• Teach in person on Mondays and Tuesdays (6–8 hours/day), with additional Wednesday sessions during the first four weeks of each term.
• Prepare and present class materials, exercises, and assignments aligned with established curriculum and learning objectives.
• Guide students through the design process, providing feedback, support, and mentorship on all assignments and projects.
• Evaluate student performance using clear grading rubrics and learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Director to maintain and enhance course content based on student performance, feedback, and industry trends.
• Oversee and critique final student projects and presentations.
• Stay current with industry standards, teaching methods, and design innovations through continued learning and engagement with the design community.
• Use technology and digital tools to support learning outcomes where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
• Minimum 5 years (10,000 hours) of professional interior design experience (or accredited degree plus 2 years (4,000 hours) of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal communication and presentation skills.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage classroom with adult learners in an accelerated learning environment.
• Proficiency in core interior design concepts, topics and professional practices.
• Current, active experience in residential interior design.
Preferred:
• Experience in teaching or training, especially in adult education.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional best practices.
