Position will require but not be limited to:
The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Company’s Human Resource department. The HR Assistant performs a wide range of human resources functions. Their duties include assisting in recruiting, hiring, and training new and existing employees. HR Assistants also help plan programs and processes designed to improve employee welfare. They will be required to assist with employee benefit portals, Department of Labor requirements, Unemployment filings, Workers’ compensation processing and maintenance, and maintaining and assisting in organizing HR software, recruiting, and new hire orientation. They help assist payroll, maintain vital employee records, Company documentation pertaining to HR, employee benefits, and Safety, and ensure the smooth operation of the HR department. The HR assistant will assist in data entry of portals and provide daily support to the HR Manager within the office.
HR Assistants help create a productive work environment by assisting in designing, implementing, and monitoring management’s employee development processes, programs, and policies and maintaining process. Additionally but not limited too, HR Assistants assist in coordinating meetings and maintain personnel records.
The position also includes the ability to drive, assist in injury prevention, as well as assist in turning in workers compensation reporting. Working with the Safety coordinator to maintain documentation will also be an important aspect of the position.
The ideal HR Assistant has an in-depth understanding of human resources practices and labor laws. They are experienced in recruitment processes, COBRA, workers compensation, unemployment, employee benefit programs, including writing and posting job ads on recruitment sites, conducting background checks on applicants, new hire requirements, and assisting with interviews. The best candidates possess proficiency in general and human resources computer programs including MS Office and HR Software. Confident, professional, and positive candidates who have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well under pressure, and are adept at organizing the office are encouraged to apply. Currently the position is Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Background check and Drug testing will be required upon hire.
Additional Human Resource Assistant Qualifications/Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
• Working knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
• Knowledge of employment law and human resources responsibilities.
• Ability to multi task.
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound decision-making skills.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• College degree in Human Resources Management, Personnel Management, or a related field.
• One to three years experience as an HR Assistant or related position
• On-the-job training provided

Compensation Range:
Hourly: $19.00 - $25.00 to start
