What You'll Do As a Furniture Systems Installer at IWS, you're executing complex commercial workspace projects — not just moving boxes. You'll interpret floorplans, work directly in client facilities, coordinate with your team and the operations staff back at the office, and deliver results that reflect the IWS standard of quality. Core Responsibilities: · Receive, inspect, pre-assemble products at our warehouse or onsite · Install furniture (including systems furniture, casegoods, architectural walls, smart products, seating and beyond) and products from other leading open line manufacturers · Read and interpret architectural drawings, installation plans, and product specifications · Conduct site walks prior to and during projects, documenting conditions and flagging issues proactively · Complete all required job documentation accurately and on time — including installation checklists, punch lists, labor time sheets (separate from timesheets), change order forms, and site photos · Maintain a clean, organized and professional job site throughout the project and leave spaces in better condition than you found them · Communicate regularly with the IWS operations and sales team via company-provided iPad throughout the workday · Represent IWS professionally in all client-facing interactions — your presence on-site is a direct reflection of our brand · Coordinate with Lead Installers and Project Managers to stay aligned on scope, schedule, and priorities · Successfully pass background checks required for access to certain client facilities What We're Looking For Required: · 2+ years of hands-on commercial furniture systems installation experience (Steelcase strongly preferred) · Experience with at least one other top-tier manufacturer (Miller-Knoll, Haworth, Kimball, etc) · Ability to read floorplans, shop drawings, and installation documentation · Strong mechanical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail · Excellent communication skills — daily contact with the ops and sales team is expected and essential · Ability to complete and submit field paperwork accurately (checklists, labor docs, change orders, photos) · Comfortable using a tablet/iPad for daily job scope, documentation, and communication · Ability to lift 75+ lbs, work on ladders, and perform physical work throughout the day · Valid driver's license with a clean driving record · Must be able to pass a background check A Plus (Not Required): · Experience in carpentry, woodworking, or other skilled trades · OSHA 10 or 30 certification · Forklift or power equipment operation experience · Familiarity with technology, AV products and integration of same in commercial, educational and health environments What IWS Provides · Competitive hourly wage based on experience · Health, dental, and vision insurance · Paid time off and holidays · Company-provided tools or reimbursement for approved personal tools · Data-enabled iPad provided to each installation team daily · Manufacturer and product training support · A team culture built around professionalism, accountability, and being great IWS is an equal opportunity employer.
