About this role

Designer to collaborate with the senior design team members on project goals, assisting with design concepts and interfacing with the clients to ensure needs are being met in a timely fashion. Professionals at this level are entrusted with overseeing the placement of orders, for fundamental elements of the space, such as furniture and other aesthetic specifications, with the office... administration; assisting the documentation regarding budget, client purchases, and marketing efforts; and ensuring best practices for the project. The Designer will also be required to help determine project scope+budget, and completely manage smaller-scaled projects that represent the brand, with minimal supervision. They will execute design drawings including 3D sketches; prioritize, manage and implement the preparation of client presentations; select furniture, lighting, fabrics and materials; enter information into our project management software; attend client meetings, and aid in detailed project management RESPONSIBILITIES: • Participation and Coordination: • Participate in weekly meetings, providing updates on responsibilities. • Meet with assigned clients to program project requirements. Design Process Assistance: • Assist in all aspects of the design process from conceptualization to on-site assistance with installations. • Oversee initial residential space planning drafts before principal designers' involvement. • Assist CAD Specialist with AutoCAD Plan and Elevation drafting and renderings, as needed. Issue Resolution and Problem-Solving: • Oversee and resolve issues with contractors, vendors, and clients in a proactive, creative manner. • Problem-solve throughout the design process. Research and Documentation: • Research, source, and specify Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FFE) and materials. • Develop detailed project documentation, including measurements and photos. • Create and update all FFE and project-related schedules. • Review client orders and specifications. Presentation and Communication: • Develop mood boards, presentations, and other visual assets. • Assist with creating Client Proposals, including research and pricing. • Present design decisions for review. Project Management: • Help set timelines for project completion. • Take personal responsibility for project progress, deadlines, and organization. • Track and record time spent on any client project using time-tracking devices. • Help schedule subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors for on-site meetings. Quality Assurance: • Coordinate the inspection and report of project site updates with the Project Coordinator. • Inspect completed designs to ensure client goals are met. Design Direction and Collaboration: • Collaborate with principal designers to create finish and lighting schedules. • Translate design direction from Design Principal into documents and renderings. Client Relations: • Outline client design objectives. • Meet with assigned clients to program project requirements. • Coordinate with vendors to ensure proper execution of FFE selections and original design concepts. QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience and Education:3-5 years of experience in a full-service design firm. • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture. • Technical Skills: • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite. • Familiarity with Revit, Sketchup, Photoshop is advantageous. • Must possess hand sketching/rendering abilities. • Work Approach: • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Highly organized with great attention to detail and follow-through. • Strong work ethic and time management skills. • Personal Traits: • Professional, responsible, and detail-oriented. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. • Diplomatic, discreet, proactive, creative-thinking, and problem-solving. • Design Versatility: • Comfortable working in all areas of design (e.g., presentations, purchasing, concept design, project management, installations).
