Design Team Leader

Purpose: The Design Team Leader is dedicated to fostering the growth and expertise of the design team while driving sales for Floor and Decor. This role ensures customers enjoy a remarkable sales experience through exceptional design services. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Bachelor's or Associate degree in Interior Design6 years of interior design experience without formal educationCombination of education and experience totaling 6 years3-5 years of leadership or management experienceKnowledge of hard surface flooring is a plusStrong mathematical skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsBasic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office suitePerform additional responsibilities as assignedInternal candidates should have 12 months of experience in a Senior designer position, ADM role, or higherEssential Job Functions Proven ability to establish and nurture relationships with residential and professional customersHire and develop a dynamic and motivated design team, conducting performance evaluationsGreet and assist customers with design walk-in needsManage the store design appointment calendar, scheduling appointments for current and prospective clients, while building a clientele through networking and referralsProvide expert advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for both residential and commercial projectsDesign and sell complete, functional, and visually appealing solutionsOversee multiple customer projects, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and effective communicationCollaborate with store leadership and staff to manage projects from inquiry to installation, meeting sales and operational goalsSupport all company initiatives and goals while modeling best practices for employeesMaintain the Design Center and uphold company visual standardsStay updated on current design trends in the marketUtilize design applications such as Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject, James Martin, and HousProEngage in local professional organizations like ASID, NKBAPerform other assigned duties as neededWorking Conditions Limited travel required, including car travelExposure to a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy conditionsPhysical/Sensory Requirements Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or constant force of up to 10 pounds. Frequent use of hands and fingers required; occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling is expected.
