About the Role
We are looking for an Interior Design Specialist who will play a key role in supporting our operations in Huntsville, AL.
• This position will provide interior design services to support the Agency Operations Facilities (AOF) Regional Manager and Government customers to execute day-to-day mission planning.
• The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including customers, project managers, and team members.
• This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a high level of organization and time management skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for interior design, and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Responsibilities will include assisting in space planning and interior design activities, such as construction, reconfiguration, renovation, and remodel projects.
• This role will also involve acting as project coordinator for Facility Operations projects, providing assistance and advice to customers throughout the process.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and designing furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and preparing bills of materials for purchase.
• Additionally, this role will require creating specifications of furniture and providing cost estimates analysis and justifications.
• The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, be able to accurately read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and have applicable knowledge of construction processes.
• This role will also involve developing and maintaining architectural as-built drawings and plans, to include systems furniture layout and designs.
• Supporting the development and maintenance of master plans, schedules, cost estimates, and budgets will also be a key responsibility.
• This role will require working closely with customers, project managers, and team members to ensure all project requirements are captured and identified.
• Providing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or as needed status reports on tasks and accomplishments will also be a key responsibility.
• The successful candidate will be able to develop strong rapport with personnel representing organizations internal to the agency.
• This role will also involve resolving issues and making sound decisions that are in the best interest of the customer.
• Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize work to meet deadlines will also be required.
• This role will require learning and supporting multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
• Performing other duties as assigned will also be a key responsibility.
